After serving as the Youth Pastor at First Baptist Church in New Philadelphia, OH for four years, Kale and his family are following the Lord by moving to Budapest, Hungary.
Kale & Brooke have worked alongside the Hungarian American Fellowship (HAF) since 2014, putting on summer camps for children and sharing the gospel. The HAF has seen hundreds of Hungarian children and adults come to know Christ as their Savior, and the Horvath’s are preparing to go and plant churches and make disciples.
Kale’s family (on his father’s side) is Hungarian. Although they weren’t raised speaking the language, or having ever visited, the family heritage served as an original interest in visiting Hungary in 2014. It is one of the reasons Kale and Brooke fell in love with the country, people, and culture.
The name “Horvath” in Hungary is very common and often provides open doors. Hungarian nationals are curious and ask why Americans are in Hungary with a Hungarian last name.
Kale & Brooke Horvath were married in 2012 and have one son, Judah, who was born on May 25, 2018.
