Dominican Republic
Gary and Allison Hale
The DR Vision is built upon the conviction that the most effective work in missions is accomplished in the context of integrated teams, prayerfully put together in order to accomplish specific objectives. By using the collective strengths and spiritual gifts of its members, both Dominican and foreign, Team Dominican Republic seeks to implement the vision with ministry excellence. DR Vision includes a wide range of ministries, including two local churches, sports programs, a seminary, summer internships, Christian schools, jewelry-making programs for at-risk women, and safe houses for women in danger. We’ve highlighted some of these ministries below, but be sure to check out their website for more information.
IBEM (Iglesia Bautista Evangélica de Macorís)
IIglesia Bautista Evangélica de Macorís (IBEM), is at the core of the DR Vision. Started in August 2003, the church strives to grow into a strong, significant church that can then plant churches throughout the Dominican Republic and send out missionaries to foreign countries.
Mercy Workshop
In the Dominican Republic, poverty, lack of education, and broken family structures leave women and children vulnerable to exploitation, child marriage, and abuse. With some of the highest rates of child marriage and femicide in Latin America, the need for hope and healing is urgent.
That’s where we step in.
Our mission is to provide women with a life of dignity through Christ-centered support, job skills training, education, counseling, and crisis prevention. Every purchase directly empowers women in crisis and helps protect children from cycles of exploitation.
You can help us rewrite the story for women and children in the DR – one of dignity, healing, and lasting change.
