Our Start
Our first service as Harvest Baptist Church of Blue Springs was January 31,1993 in Terry Jobe's family room. We were sent out as a sister church of the Kansas City Baptist Temple under Pastor Jeff Adams. We began with the seven families God pulled together that followed His calling to start the church with our Pastor, Terry Jobe.
As we began our search for a facility, we discovered it was not quite as easy as just moving into an existing facility to meet our needs and getting started. Our first service was actually held in Pastor Jobe's home, as were the next few as we continued our search for a facility in Blue Springs. In that first service, God blessed and one of our visitors received the free gift of salvation by accepting Jesus Christ as his personal Savior! He is still with us today, serving God faithfully.
In a few weeks time, we were able to locate a facility that would meet our needs, including financially. First we leased two spaces in an office building called Jefferson Center. Over time we purchased the building and made the entire facility into a church. We served the Lord faithfully there for several years and in 2007 God blessed us again by giving us a larger church building across the Intersate. In Feburary 2009 we officially moved into our new building. This is all in God's timing as we have seen on numerous occasions where He takes us to near full capacity and then opens the door for additional space. Our new building should handle our future needs and our plan is to send out someone called from our congregation to start another work before we fill this new facility! We are anxious to see who God will use.
